EYAM is a village in Derbyshire England, known as the Plague Village. Today the village is in the Peak District National Park. It is a beautiful place with a sad past.--- In the year 1665 AD the plague outbreak started, when a flea infested bundle of cloth arrived from London, within a week the tailor was dead.--- The villagers took precautions to slow the spread of he illness. Families had to bury their own dead. Church services were held in the Open Air. The most known precaution was that the village went into quarantine. Sounds like today. The plague ran for 14 months.273 villagers died ,only 83 surviving. Is this a blast from the past ?=-----------------------------------------------
